all hallows eve

As I was walking through Pitt St Mall today I spied this ghouly creation from The Cupcake Bakery. Combining sweet cupcakes with an on trend tangerine orange and my favourite shade of black to make this all I can say is BEST. WINDOW. DISPLAY. EVER and I mean EVER. Y'all should be proud your ever so tempted blogger did not buy one -  this is for two reasons;

1. I just bought the most amazing pair of skinny leg coral jeans last night and thus am wearing the super tight bad boys for a happy Friday (post to come)
2. Even if I had bought one the creation would have been so awesome that I would not have taken a bite and unfortunately I could not keep the cupcake next to my Glasshouse candles and House of Harlow display boxes could I?

Only my eyes feasted on these sweet pumpkins, snaps for me!

Also have an amazing "bloody" disney costume spin for a Halloween bash tomorrow night.

Happy Halloween!!! (and yes I know its Australia but I cannot resist me a holiday or celebration of any kind)

shellac-ing good time

On the weekend apart from being violently ill for the most part I did make one outing. I headed into the local  "centro" mall at Warriewood pretty much a seniors mecca, shitloads of disabled parking, one floor and flat ground with numerous senior coffee incentives splashed all around, what more could you elderlies want. I went into my preferred nail salon (who do a mean hot stone massage as part of their pedicure treatment) and got a manicure and pedicure. Now as I was scouring the colours on the shelf I spied this incredibly girly pink bottle which  is not completely my thing but I thought summer lets go bright.

The colour I picked up was tutti frutti from CND a Shellac nail polish which boasts to last up to 14 days with incredible shine, no smudging and no chipping but still comes off as easily as normal nail polish. After a typical mani pedi prep I was moved to a station with two machines with an ultraviolet light beeming from them. After each coat of nail polish I put my hands into the ultraviolet machine and I felt some heat come from them onto my hands and feet. I was so impressed with the shine I'm a killer for a matte colour with an incredible shine. I often put two or three coats of top coat on in order to achieve this. I have not been more impressed with a colour and shine ever!

Day 2 and counting so hopefully it stays as shiney as this... Shellac and I'll never go back!!!

crayola colours

Today on this beautiful sunny Sydney day I went for a wander in my lunch break I had a quick look through pitt st mall then ended up on george street where I spied the Kookai window dressing full of bright colour clothing. Immediately I went inside and was greeted by most amazingly leggy blonde a la Serena Van Der Woodsen fabulous and a crayon coloured selection of clothes. Now I am not a typical "colour" person in the slightest my clothing consists of black, white, grey and kahki. However audience I purchase three items three items that were not black nor even neutral.

Item 1: Behold a sunny yellow "marigold" coloured basic dress with a half cap sleeve dipping low back and of course it is reversable (I love some BANG for my buck)
Item 2: A bright coral/orange "watermelon" loose tee with a cowl drap in the back perfect for anything and suitable for all occasions this little baby will be a summer staple and I plan on buying it in every single colour
Item 3: A bubble stripe skirt of white, orange and fushia adorably cute on date night and cocktails with the girls, throwing a cropped jacket over it for work on those sunny days it will be perfection

Friends, I cannot tell you how happy I have been since my 1pm purchase I think its not just because I bought something, althought I do love that feeling of swiping my card through a machine. But rather that the brightness of my purchases have somehow seeped into my life and I'm all marigolds and smiles...  Is this possible?

Crayola colours that is where it is at!

the greatest par de deux of all

Rudolf Nureyev talks Margot Fonteyn -
"At the end of 'Lac des Cygnes' when she left the stage in her great white tutu I would have followed her to the end of the world."
