goddamn beautiful

video: youtube

Fuck, I love Lana Del Rey. She is all types of amazing and this film clip tops it. Critics have said all types of things regarding her album but Blue Jeans is definitely a foundation track following suit of Video Games and Born To Die a trilogy of obsessively dramatic love songs where you can hear her heart literally breaking as she sings "Promise me you'll remember that you're mine. Baby can't you see through the tears?". It's an odd dynamic where you see Lana in the pool with a sexy tattooed male slash croc wrapping her endless legs around a scaly tail whilst she sings how incredibly in love she is. Something as a mere human I cannot get for one reason. She is so goddamn beautiful why would you not fall in love with her? Her face alone is enough to make me watch her videos over 50 times in one sitting - please no judgements this is a neutral forum. Gorgeous does not describe this neo human. Enjoy.

reasons balloons are fun deflated

images: http://inflateddeflated.com/

A cute trio from Chicago are making great waves on one of my favourite websites Etsy! They write cute sayings, profound phrases and killer words on deflated balloons and sell them off. Now whilst most might not think this is "art" it's a greta way to showcase some of your favourite sayings or your favourite song lyrics. Check out their store at etsy.com/inflateddefalted.

27 club

Today is Kurt Cobain's birthday. He would have been 45 years old but as we all know was cut down in the worst and self inflicted way. He then joined the 27 club along with Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison, Jimmy Hendrix and Heath Ledger a confronting phenomeon. Fronting the biggest 90's grunge band of all time, Kurt came from a small town just outside Seattle in the southwest of America. He made rockstar status after dropping out of school all whilst playing guitar to keep himself out of "trouble". Nirvana will be forever as will his memory.

I'll leave it to the words of his mother Wendy O'Connor who spoke of Kurt's death after he joked about joining the 27 club "Now he's gone and joined that stupid club, I told him not to join that stupid club."

Happy birthday.

a little somethin' somethin'

Nude Lucy tank $29.95 at Glue

Wittner "Lyon" wedges in Nude $139.95

Neon Hart sheer leopard maxi skirt $59.95 at General Pants

Wittner "Rise" boots in black $169.95

Australis Nail Colour in "Aqua" $9.95 at Priceline

So I thought I would share a few purchases I have made of late. Really into leopard print having said that I have been obsessed with resembling a cat like creature for soemtime now. Neon Hart is doing some amazing things and I'm really into this sheer leopard print maix which goes with everything and is my true love. I have taken up painting my nails some crazy bright colours on the weekend due to my new job which shock horror requires me to wear naked nails... I have to say its a struggle but I have come accustomed to a Friday night ritual of coming home a painting my nails instantly that and cheating wearing a nude colour during the week. I'm not really inot this whole regulation thing but I'm trying to be a good worker... Blah. Either way this weekends colour is for sure going to be this newly purchased Australis colour in Aqua. Just four more days...

Will you be my valentine?

A heart for my lovers, hope y'all have a love filled day!

maui, waikiki and everything in between

Hi bloggers, sorry that I have been MIA for a while now. I have been in the land of Hawai'i enjoying a well deserved break! I am back at work doing the whole 9-5 thing, it is a far cry from last weeks endless Mai Tai's and floating along the water at Waikiki beach. Had 3 days in Maui and 8 days in Waikiki.

I had the most incredible time away these are just some of the things I did;
Drinking bottomless bowl-like cocktails
Shopping (Forever 21 and Victoria's Secret and M.A.C. makeup were favs)
Swimming
Watched the sunrise on a 10,000 ft high mountain in Maui
Off roded in a Jeep to see the infamous wave Jaws
Ate fish tacos
Discovered Cheeseburger in Paradise
Went to a Luau
Visited Pearl Harbor
Had New Years Eve at Aloha Tower
Made a friend from Canberra wearing the same Kookai dress in Marigold as me
Drank and enforced a 3 tequila shot minimum on New Years Eve
Met the wisest guy at a bar in the middle of a car park who will know be known as JC
Hitched a ride home in the back of a random's ute with 10 other people instead of waiting in the 2 hour cab line post New Years Eve
Attempted to bike ride (it was a skill I was deprived of after the whole falling off a bike scenario in the early 90's)
Saw 40ft waves at the North Shore
Drank too much Bud Light
Watched the Ron Artis Family Band play
Watched my bf paddle board
Visited the Arizona Memorial
Got amazing hand painted flowers on my toes from the best nail tech I have ever experienced
Attempted the world's largest meal at the Cheesecake Factory
Got "laid" (see what I did there)
Met up with my lovely VT who got engaged a day later!!!
Learnt incredibly annoying songs courtesy of tour guide Ron

It was amazing, incredible and needless to say I want to now move to Maui it was gorgeous. I promise to share some photos once I actually get through the hundreds and hundreds of them all!
